Karva Chauth 2028 in the Netherlands
Also called Karwa Chauth, करवा चौथ.
Karva Chauth is a fast from sunrise until the moon is seen. That last condition is the whole problem in the Netherlands. Moonrise in late October is around seven in the evening, and cloud cover at that time of year means the moon is often not visible at all. Families here generally agree in advance to go by the calculated moonrise time rather than a sighting, and eat.
The rest of it travels well. Sargi before dawn is the part people miss most, because it is the part that needs someone else to have cooked.
