Questions
The things people actually ask.
If your question is not here, message us. You will get a person, not a form.
- Can you arrange pure vegetarian or Jain food in Amsterdam?
- Yes, and there is a difference between the two. Jain means no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables, prepared to sattvik standards — not a vegetarian dish with things left out. Our caterers know that distinction, which is why we ask about it up front rather than after the menu is set. Eggless cake is a standard option, not an awkward substitution.
- How far in advance should we book a proposal?
- About three days is comfortable for a private canal boat with a photographer. Longer helps if your dates are fixed and you want a specific boat or time of day — sunset in summer books out. If your dates are tighter than that, ask anyway; we would rather tell you honestly than have you not ask.
- Can you help if we arrive tomorrow?
- Often, yes. An in-room birthday setup is the one we can most frequently turn around same day — decor, cake and flowers timed to the minute someone walks in. A boat with a photographer is harder at that notice. Message us and we will tell you straight away what is actually possible rather than taking the booking and hoping.
- Do you speak Hindi?
- Yes. You deal with one person on WhatsApp, in Hindi or English, from the first message through to the day itself — not a shared inbox and not a different name each time.
- How do we pay from India?
- A booking is confirmed when you accept a written quote and pay the deposit stated in it. The quote sets out how to pay and by when. We know an international transfer from India is not always straightforward, so tell us where you are paying from and we will work out the least painful route.
- What happens if it rains?
- Amsterdam weather is a planning input, not a surprise. A saloon boat is enclosed, so rain changes the photographs rather than the plan, and a family day has museum entries booked for exactly this reason. Where something genuinely cannot go ahead we arrange the nearest alternative and tell you promptly.
- Can you arrange a puja on a boat?
- A puja setup on a private boat is something to ask us about directly rather than book from a page. The setup itself — puja samagri, sattvik prasad, marigold — is standard for us. Whether a specific boat operator permits a live flame on board is their decision and varies by vessel, so we check it for your date before we quote rather than promising it here.
- Do you work outside Amsterdam?
- Yes. Amstelveen most of all — a good share of what we arrange is in flats there rather than hotels in the centre — and also Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Den Bosch. A house warming or a birthday at home is as ordinary a job for us as a canal boat.
- What if we need to cancel?
- Tell us as early as you can. Dates, group sizes and requirements can often be changed, but some suppliers charge for late changes or cancellations, so the terms that apply to your booking are set out in your quote before you pay anything. Sending an enquiry commits you to nothing.
- Can you keep it a surprise from my partner?
- That is the usual arrangement. We plan the timing with you rather than with them, and the photographer knows when to be invisible and when to start shooting. If you would rather we did not send email, say so and we will keep everything on WhatsApp to one number.
Still unsure whether we can do what you have in mind? Ask us on WhatsApp — it is usually quicker than reading another page.
