We're Indians who live here.
Most companies arranging celebrations in Amsterdam are Dutch companies that will happily take an Indian booking. This one is the other way round.
Amsterdam Genie is run by Indians who moved to the Netherlands and stayed. We have been producing live events across Europe since 2018 — touring shows across the Netherlands, the UK and Germany, which is a business made almost entirely of logistics: visas, freight, venues, suppliers, and the constant small work of getting people and things into the right room at the right hour.
That is the same job as a proposal on a canal boat, only smaller and with more at stake for the two people involved.
Why this exists
Because we kept being asked. Friends visiting from India wanted a birthday sorted in a hotel room, or a photographer who understood that the parents belong in the frame. Families here in Amstelveen wanted a puja arranged on the actual date, with marigold that was actually marigold.
Every time, the hard part was the same: explaining to a Dutch supplier what was actually being asked for. That pure veg is not “we'll leave the chicken out”. That Jain is a preparation, not a plating. That eleven at night is a normal time to eat. Each of those conversations takes an hour the first time and thirty seconds once you have had it two hundred times.
We have had them two hundred times. That is most of what you are hiring.
What we actually do
We quote every job by hand, because a proposal for two and an anniversary for twelve are not the same work. There is no online checkout and no package that fits without being adjusted. You message us, we ask a few questions, and you get a written price with nothing to pay to see it.
You deal with one person throughout, on WhatsApp, in Hindi or English. The person who answers your first message is the person on site on the day — not a coordinator you have never spoken to.
Where we work
Amsterdam and Amstelveen most of all, and across the Randstad — Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Den Bosch. Roughly half of what we arrange is for people visiting for a few days. The other half is for families who live here and have a calendar of their own: birthdays, baby showers, house warmings, and the festivals that come round whether or not anyone has planned for them.
If you are trying to work out whether we can do the thing you have in mind, just ask us on WhatsApp. We will tell you honestly if it is not something we can do well.
Your wish is our command.
Tell us what you're planning. We'll tell you what's possible, and what it costs.
