The same day is Ugadi in Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana and Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra. A gudi goes up at a window or balcony; the food is bevu-bella or puran poli depending on which side of the border your family is from.
The neem is the sourcing problem. Fresh neem flowers do not exist in the Netherlands in March, and dried is a poor substitute that most families accept.
