Festival
Baisakhi in the Netherlands
Also called Vaisakhi, ਵਿਸਾਖੀ.
Baisakhi is both a harvest festival and the day the Khalsa was founded in 1699. It follows the solar calendar, so it is 13 or 14 April almost every year.
The gurdwaras in the Netherlands mark it with kirtan, nagar kirtan and langar. At home it is a lunch, and usually a large one.
What we arrange
- Langar-style catering for a large group
- Karah prasad in quantity
- A hall for a family lunch when the flat will not hold everyone
- Dhol for the afternoon, if the neighbours can stand it
Sourcing takes about 21 days for this one, so tell us by .
Dates
- Baisakhi 2027 — Wednesday, 14 April 2027
